Warehouse move - The community came to our rescue in August when we learned we had 30 days to vacate the warehouse where we hold furniture giveaways for families in need. Media coverage prompted off ers of help from warehouse owners and volunteers, who packed truckload after truckload of children's items, furniture and appliances and unloaded it all at our new space in south K.C. Thanks, Everyone!
Woman of the Year - The Greater Missouri Leadership Foundation honored Sister Berta in June as its "Woman of the Year." "Sister Berta is a bit of a bulldog," says Greater Missouri board president Carol Wilke. "She knows what needs to be done and will stop at nothing to ensure it happens." The Foundation honors Missouri women leaders.
