Every day at Operation Breakthrough is about helping children reach their potential - physically, cognitively and socially.

More than 90% percent of children graduate from our preschool program testing as "kindergarten ready," compared with fewer than 50% of children in poverty nationally.

Our school-age program focuses on literacy and STEM skills, character development and opportunities for children to discover interests and talents that can lead to careers. More than 80% of our third graders are reading at or above grade level, compared with a statewide average for Missouri of 62%.

Our alumni say that their time at Operation Breakthrough set them up for success.
"Operation Breakthrough brought opportunity," says Markis Samuels, 23, now a Leading Men Fellow with The Literacy Lab. "They had us thinking outside the box, dreaming bigger than our circumstances."

Our recent expansion allows us to enroll 290 additional children for a total of 720. Though many of our children come from households living on less than $12,000 a year, in high-crime neighborhoods, they arrive every day ready to try new things and leave each evening looking forward to tomorrow. Please help us give them the opportunities they need to reach their great potential.
