The Elders Kansas City
A record crowd turned out Memorial Day weekend for the 5th-annual Celtic Block Party, a benefit for the Center’s children, sponsored by Locks & Pulls Inc., Governor Stumpy’s Grillhouse and the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Kansas. The halls of Operation Breakthrough became a smorgasbord of health information for Center families June 14. Organized by Center board member and Children’s Mercy doctor Elisa Silverstein, the health fair offerings included asthma education, dental checks, injury and child abuse prevention, dermatology and healthful foods, including dried cranberries – apparently an exciting new taste for 2-year-old Je’Onna Mitchell, below.
