Volunteers at Operation Breakthrough range in age from 8 to 80 and do everything from rocking babies to tutoring parents for the GED exam. Some come once in a while. Some come once a week. Volunteers are needed to read to preschoolers, tutor school-age children, mentor children who would benefit from spending time with a caring adult and share hobbies, such as cake decorating or stamp collecting, with small groups of children.
Volunteers with specialized skills such as electrical repair, data entry or graphic design are also needed from time to time.
At present, professionals in the field of dentistry are needed to volunteer time in our on-site, full-service dental clinic.
All volunteers are subject to a criminal background check, as the safety of our children is our first priority. For more information about becoming a volunteer at Operation Breakthrough email us or call 816-329-5233 and ask for the director of volunteer services.
