Farm Fest promises fun for families
Save the date of June 1 so your family won’t miss Farm Fest 2008 at the Deanna Rose Farmstead. On this one evening, you and the kids can bottle-feed baby goats, bounce in the Moon Walk, bop to the music of Radio Disney and Dino O’Dell and the Veloci- Rappers, take a hay ride and feast from a kid-friendly buffet, while enjoying all the usual Farmstead activities, such as fishing and visiting the petting zoo.
This is the seventh year for the Farm Fest fundraiser and the second time Operation Breakthrough has been part of the fun. Farm Fest’s founding organizations, the Farmstead and the Jewish Community Center, invited Operation Breakthrough to join them in putting on Farm Fest again this year. The three organizations will receive equal shares of the evening’s proceeds.
As many as 2,000 people are expected to attend Farm Fest from across the Kansas City area. Tickets are $15 in advance or $10 for groups of 15 or more. The price includes the buffet dinner and all activities. Tickets will be available in May at the Farmstead, located at 138th and Switzer in Overland Park, and can also be purchased by clicking here.
There are many promotional opportunities available for sponsors. Sponsorships range from $500 to $15,000. Major sponsors to date include Garmin, BlueCross BlueShield of Kansas City, Shear Madness, DST Systems, Bank Midwest and Everest.
If you would like information about sponsorships or volunteer opportunities, please contact Farm Fest Co-Chair Sarah Telford at 816-361-9497 or stelford@kc.rr.com. And check back here for more details as the date gets closer.
